Creating a native app experience from a powerful web foundation
When Belgian fashion retailer LolaLiza wanted to bring their newest digital storefront to mobile app stores, they didn’t need to start from scratch. Their Progressive Web App (PWA)—built on Salesforce Commerce Cloud and developed in close collaboration between their in-house team and our trusted partner Forward—already provided a solid foundation. What they needed was a seamless way to transform that experience into a native mobile app, without building everything from the ground up.
That’s where we came in.
From Web to Native—Seamlessly
We helped the team develop a native mobile wrapper around LolaLiza’s PWA. This approach allowed their existing web app to power a full mobile experience while benefiting from native app enhancements. Built using React Native, our wrapper app was deployed to both iOS and Android, unlocking several possibilities:
📲 App Store presence on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
🔔 Native push notifications for timely customer engagement
🔗 Deep linking for smooth navigation from other channels
🎁 Support for app-exclusive promotions to incentivize mobile usage
By choosing React Native, we significantly lowered the learning curve for LolaLiza’s development team, who were already well-versed in the React web ecosystem. Even better—there was no need to maintain separate iOS or Android codebases.
Knowledge Transfer: Built In
From the start, our goal was self-sufficiency. After the initial release in August 2024, LolaLiza’s team confidently took over. Thanks to the shared technology stack, they maintained and evolved the app independently for nearly a year.
Back for a Helping Hand
Eventually LolaLiza reached out again. This time, to tackle more advanced iOS challenges and seek expert advice. We were happy to jump back in and help resolve the issues quickly and effectively.
